Oilheat is Abundant
The notion that oil is in short supply or that oil reserves are somehow running low is simply untrue. As a matter of fact, the U.S. currently has a surplus of oil, is producing more oil than it has since the 1970s, and as a result, is on track to become a net energy exporter by as early as 2026 according to some estimates.
Bringing that down to the state level, there is also an abundant and reliable supply of Oilheat in Ohio, more than enough fuel to keep all Ohioans warm and safe for many years to come.
In the state of Ohio, more than 114,000 homes use Oilheat. Ohio’s Oilheat consumers get their fuel from more than 180 independent Ohio Oilheat retailers.
Oil is produced domestically in 31 states, including Ohio and its neighboring states, and internationally in over 50 countries. Ohio is not dependent on any one country or region for its oil supply.
The U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve has a capacity of 727-million barrels, the largest stockpile of government-owned emergency crude oil in the world.
